Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read my very first blog post. I have toyed with the idea of creating a blog or journal (for all you fancy people out there) for some time now, but always hesitated, had doubts that my voice would be worth anything, if I was actually any good at writing and did the world really need another design blog...? possibly not but imma do it anyway so please read on to find out more about me and the things that will be featuring going forward.

My Background

'Daniela is an award-winning London based interior designer whose modern luxury aesthetic has her hailed as ‘cutting edge, boundary pushing’. Daniela is fast becoming known for her ability to cleverly combine timeless sophistication and contemporary living whilst retaining her distinctively refined, raw minimalist aesthetic. Tone on tone palettes overflowing with texture and fine details, Daniela is coveted for her instantly recognizable design approach.'

After spending my entire life completely consumed by all varieties of design and completing a degree in Fashion and Textiles, I began my career in luxury fashion as head designer for Matches house label, Freda. I then had a break to become a mother and in that time we also decided it was a great idea to move to Ibiza to become hippies and live our life in the sun. As idyllic as this sounds, we missed home and family and returned to the UK in 2106. Shortly after returning I entered and won the 2017 series of BBC2 “The Great Interior Design Challenge”, and went on to work with world renowned interior designer, Kelly Hoppen. After high demand, I decided to establish my own interior design studio creating both residential and commercial spaces internationally for a variety of enviable clients.

Blog content

Fast forward to now, I have taken the plunge and launched this design journal. I will be sharing everything I have learnt over my varied career but also to document the renovation of our first family home, a four-bedroom detached Edwardian property in the suburbs of London. Here you will find the ups and downs of renovating to my high end tastes on a minimalistic budget. trend reports, inspirations, insider perspectives and outside of the box ideas will feature heavily as well as opening up my little black book of recommended suppliers. I have so much to say and feel the time is now so please do email me with any questions or suggestions on what you would like me to feature here and ill make sure to include all I can. Stayed tuned and subscribe to my mailing list for updates!
